Qubit

A qubit is a two-level quantum system. Read in the computational basis it gives 0 or 1; before the read it is a state — two complex amplitudes whose squared magnitudes add to one.

On the machines ROX OS runs, a qubit is a superconducting circuit (IBM Heron, IQM Garnet and Emerald). Each has a lifetime T1 and a coherence time T2; each two-qubit gate carries an error that today's calibration reports per coupler. ROX OS reads those numbers before it plans.

What matters for a run: how many qubits the workload needs, and which physical qubits carry them. The loop is chosen from today's calibration, not from a diagram.
